‘Boyfriend’ remixers have nothing but praise for teen crooner and comparisons to their ‘Wait (The Whisper Song).’

<P><a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/bieber_justin/artist.jhtml">Justin Bieber</a>'s <a href="/news/articles/1684836/justin-bieber-boyfriend-remix-ying-yang-twins.jhtml">"Boyfriend"</a> got the remix treatment from rap duo the <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/ying_yang_twins/artist.jhtml">Ying Yang Twins</a> this week. The twosome dropped their take on the singer's single late Wednesday, amping up the song's sexiness with their signature sense of innuendo.</P><P>Playing on the song's title, the Twins (D-Roc and Kaine) note on their verses that while Bieber is offering up his services as your boyfriend, they're a little older and a little wiser and want to be your older sister's man. When MTV News spoke to D-Roc on Thursday (May 10), he talked a little bit about wanting to have fun with the Mike Posner/ Mason Levy-produced track.</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Ying Yang Twins 'Complimented' Bieber Back With 'Boyfriend' Remix" id="vid:767914" width="415" height="255"></div><p></P><P>"He want to be your boyfriend, but I want to be your <i>man.</i> I'm grown. I'm good and grown," he said. "I've been through that boyfriend/girlfriend stage, but you know, he's going through that, so that's what complemented the track too. It's like, 'OK, I want to be your man. I don't want to be your boyfriend. I'm bigger than the boyfriend.' But that's Justin Bieber, so if you got a little sister, Justin Bieber want to be her boyfriend."</P><P>D-Roc was also inspired to remix the track after many music fans had noted comparisons between Bieber's song and the Twins' 2005 hit "Wait (The Whisper Song)." "Before Justin Bieber actually had dropped the song, the hype around it, everybody was calling me saying, 'Hey, man, did y'all hear the Justin Bieber song?' I was so amped up to hear the song too. When I actually did, I listened to it and I was like, it sounded like us. He complimented us," he said. "So I wanted to compliment him by getting on it.</P><P>"It was there," he added of the comparisons. "But the thing about it is, for him to step out for the first time rapping and we was the first compliment that he gave, I felt like that young man is on job. And he did it well. It made a statement to me like, 'OK, he just trying to grow up,' and with him growing up, like, he want y'all to take him as he's grown. 'I'm 18. I'm grown now. I can do my own thing.' And what better lane, and he picked us, and I feel like that was a compliment and to compliment him back, I wanted to do the remix."</P><P>While D-Roc has yet to meet the singer, he has high praise for him. "He's a very talented young man," he said. "Like, to have as many talents as he knows how to do, you know, it's like he's a threat. He's gonna come in, and they better watch out for the young man, 'cause the young man got something to bring to the table."</P><P>Bieber will drop his highly anticipated album, <a href="/news/articles/1684079/justin-bieber-believe-album-cover.jhtml"><i>Believe,</i></a> on June 19. "Boyfriend" is the lead single, and last Thursday, he dropped the <a href="/news/articles/1684646/justin-bieber-boyfriend-video-2.jhtml">video</a> for the hit.</P><P><i>What do you think of the Ying Yang Twins' remix? MTV’s legendary hidden-camera show will re-launch with rotating cast of guest hosts on March 29 at 10 p.m. ET.

<P>One of MTV's most beloved series, <a href="http://www.mtv.com/shows/punkd/series.jhtml">"Punk'd,"</a> is gearing up for a fresh round of hidden-camera celebrity gotchas when it re-launches next month with a whole new look and feel.</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Punk'd | Khloe Kardashian | Sneak Peek" id="id:1676743" width="240" height="211"></div><p></P><P>The prank show from mastermind/ executive producer Ashton Kutcher, which originally aired from 2003 to 2007, will hit the air at 10 p.m. ET on March 29 as part of a new hour-long block of original programming that will also include a "Jersey Shore" spin-off show entitled, "The Pauly D Project."</P><P><b><big><a href="http://www.mtv.com/photos/15-most-memorable-punkd-moments/1678766/6886007/photo.jhtml">Check out the 15 most memorable moments from the original "Punk'd" show here.</a></big></b></P><P>While Kutcher enjoyed taking down his pals and unsuspecting celebrities last time, the 2.0 version of <a href="/news/articles/1676255/punkd-returning-2012.jhtml">"Punk'd" will feature a rotating cast</a> of celebrity hosts each week. It’s interesting to note that Redbox’s move to purchasing DVD’s upfront from distributors in order to avoid the studio-windows is exactly the opposite of what Netflix did in 2000. Netflix switched from upfront purchases through distributors to a revenue-sharing model with the major studios. The revenue sharing model allowed Netflix to grow its library cheaply and keep stock in highly-demanded movies, but the overall cost was higher with the revenue-share; furthermore, the studios have taken more of Netflix’s competitive advantage by implementing windowed releases in their current deals.

I think Redbox is making a great move, because over the rental life of a DVD this represents decreased revenues for the studios, so maybe they’ll start to move away from the windowed release.

Am I talking about the Galaxy Note? Actually I am talking about the HTC HD2 when it came out. It was one of the first phones with a 4.3?” screen and I remember cnet making a little fun out of it even though today 4.3?” screens are the preferred size on android phones Now the Galaxy Note is coming and again cnet seems to have size issues from I have seen and read. In your podcast, please do not knock non-iPhone phones for delivering what Apple refuses to do, which is choice.

Hey buzzcrew,

You guys (and many others) have complained a lot about Android fragmentation over the past two or so years. However, I think the real problem lies not in the software, but with how people think of Android. That’s right – you’re thinking about it wrong! (RIP Steve.) Right now, people think about all phones running Android as Android phones. That sounds like it makes sense, but then people start to complain about Android phones being too different, phones not getting updates, etc. Instead, if people start calling Samsung phones running Android “”Samsung phones”", Motorola phones running Android “”Motorola phones”", and HTC phones running Android “”HTC phones”", the fragmentation will seem less existent. To me, the only “”Android phones”" are Nexus devices. This way, custom user interfaces seem less intrusive, because you’re not using a Google device, but rather an HTC, Samsung, or Motorola device. For example, whenever I look at an LG phone running Android, I would be infuriated if I thought of an Android phone ruined by LG’s custom skin. However, if I just think of it as an LG phone with Android just as the underlying software, I can accept it. I still won’t buy it, but I won’t be as angered if it never gets updated past Gingerbread, because it’s not actually an “”Android phone”". Doesn’t Android seem nicer now?

Canon has been rather tardy with the release of its 2012 mid-level DSLR, the EOS 650D (Rebel T4i in the US and other regions). Its predecessors, the Canon EOS 600D and EOS 550D, were released in March 2011 and April 2010 respectively, but this year’s spring has passed and there’s still no sign of the new model.

It is believed, however, that Canon-ites won’t need to wait much longer: sources claim its launch will be next month. As dedicated website Canon Rumours states: “An announcement is slated for June.”

The same site has also heard some leaked specifications for the 650D, including the adoption of an 18-megapixel CMOS sensor that may or may not be the same as in last year’s 600D. Also listed is a 9-point AF (again, the same as found on the 600D) and the very welcome continuous auto focus in live view and video recording modes.

Perhaps the most tantalising rumour is that the EOS 650D will come with a touchscreen LCD screen. After the superbly large one on the 550D and swivel version on the 600D, this comes as the next evolutionary step.

That’s about all that’s come out for now, but if the June announcement is correct, Pocket-lint fully expects the speculation to ramp up in volume over the next couple of weeks.

You might use the default Android SMS app, you might use one provided by your handset manufacturer. The problem is, there’s no consistency in Android SMS clients, and most of them are ugly and don’t have much in the way of functionality.

GO SMS Pro is different, and that’s a really good thing. It’s got a lot more going on than just sending SMS messages. There are add-in apps, which extend the functionality, and lots of online services too, such as group chat and Facebook integration.

Perhaps the most important feature, however, is integrated backup and restore of your SMS messages. If you, like us, horde your past text messages then you’ll want to be able to keep them safe and sound. Backups are stored to your SD card, and it just takes a couple of button pushes to make a backup, or restore from one. There is also an automatic service, which offers to make daily, weekly or monthly copies of your messages.

If you like to keep secrets, or you’re worried about losing your phone, you can set up a private box. This allows you to keep password protected messages on the device, which will be inaccessible if your phone gets nicked or left in a pub. This should be a must for celebrities, especially if they’re in the habit of sending naked pictures of themselves to friends.

There are downloadable themes too. The default one is pretty naff, but there are some that ape the iPhone look and feel, and some nice dark themes and even one in the style of Android Ice Cream Sandwich.

If you’re a Facebooker, there’s also access to its chat service, directly from the app. This – along with some other apps – requires that you install an extra plugin, but it takes mere seconds to do. You authorise the app via the Facebook API, so there’s no real security risk here. The chat works well too, and is as simple to use as you imagine.

If you’re prepared to sign up for another service, there’s a GO Chat app included too. Here you can share doodles with your group as well as voice messages. This is all well and good, but obviously requires all your contacts use GO SMS. Something we think would be great, but a little unlikely.

We like the fact that you get a folder list too. Here you can see your inbox, outbox and sent messages along with drafts, MMS messages and even make your own folders. This is a nice feature, and will appeal to high-volume texters, we’re sure.

GO SMS Pro costs nothing, and adds loads of functionality to your text message system. We love it, and have been using it for a long time now. It makes sense, especially with the amount we change phones, but we’re pretty sure everyone will get some benefit from this handy app.

Bieber’s mentor and dance-off foe will debut his new track ‘Twisted’ on ‘MTV First: Usher,’ airing tonight at 7:54 p.m. on MTV.

While Bieber is certainly known for his ability to cut a rug, he noted that his pal has the smoother of the dance moves.</P><P>"Dance-offs? We had one the other night. He did this little show in New York," Bieber explained to MTV News earlier this month about facing off against Usher during his stint in the off-Broadway <a href="/news/articles/1685172/usher-fuerza-bruta-rehearsal.jhtml">"Fuerza Bruta" in April</a>. "Mid-show, he comes in the middle of the dance floor and does a dance battle with me. And I'm like 'I'm too tired for this.' He pulls out moves and I can't <i>not</i> dance battle Usher.</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Usher Continues To Mentor Justin Bieber" id="vid:765694.id:1684329" width="415" height="255"></div><p></P><P>"So I go in there, do my whole thing," he recalled. "He's just given me the advice of 'Always keep the people that were there in the beginning, keep them with you because those are the people that really care. They want to see you succeed,' " he said.
